Stencil It

Hi
Well it's slightly cooler tonight so I have managed a few hours in my craftroom, previous days have been far too hot to spend too long in it. I thought I would enter another project into this months challenge over at Country View challenge. The theme this month is
Stencil It.
I have done something completly different than my first entry which you can see HERE, I have gone for something more subtle. I just love playing with stencils as they are so versatile which is why I just had to enter another piece.
This piece uses 2 different stencils
First "Eve" by Peerless Designs which I have spritzed using barn door distress pen using a spritzer tool by Renart.
The second is Mini Fence Frame by TCW this time I have inked up the stencil with mini distress ink pas pumice stone, lightly misted it with water then used it as a stamp over the top of my previous stencil.
I have then added stamping, again using pumice stone distress inks the grasses and butterfly are from "Nature 1" by Indigoblu.
Then finally added the word "Dream" from Clarity word chain No.5.
Mat and layered to define it and then mounted onto an 8 x 8 card blank (I wanted a large white border around it).
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Childs Play at Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Phew!!!! How hot is it??? Hope you are all making the most of the weather here in the UK at the moment. I have been lucky enough to have been off work on holiday this last week and still off for this coming week. We decided to not go away this summer, what a fabulous decision that has turned out to be, so my tan is coming along nicely. The down side to all this fabulous weather is that it has turned my craftroom into a sauna and unbearable to be in for any longer than half an hour or so, needless to say very little crafting has taken place, the heat just saps my mojo. However, taking some short late night bursts (not much cooler) I did manage to make my DT piece for this fortnights new challenge at Fashionable Stamping Challenges
Our theme for this fortnights challenge is

"CHILDS PLAY"

Rubber stamps I have used are:-
Banksy Gas mask Flower girl - VLVS
Circles - Patti Tolley Parrish
Alphabet border - Lost Coast
Whatever - Stampotique
other items
Tims dymo numbers
Dylusions sprays
Tim Holtz stencil (inked and water bleached through)
Washi Tape.
Why not pop over and join us, my team mates have produced some fantastic inspiration for you. You can make any type of project as long as it follows our theme. Just a reminder that we are a stamping challenge so rubber stamping should be your main feature.
Our generous sponsor  Flonzcraft  offers one randomly chosen winner a $20 voucher to spend in their online store, so well worth joiningin with us.
Hopefully see you over there and thanks for visiting

Singing in the Rain at Less is More

Hi
"Singing in the Rain" is the theme this week at Less is More. So whilst I seem to be in a white space sort of mood I thought I would join in with this weeks challenge.
So a nice and simple make from me today but using another fabulous stamp from Viva Las Vegas Stamps.
I have splashed distress stains in broken china, faded jeans & picket fence onto mat craft mat and then played about dragging card through it, many failed attempts due to not enough white space but I like how this one turned out, I wanted her hand to be held out into no rain.
Viva Las Vegas stamp is "Banksy Rain Under Umbrella Girl"
sentiment is from Katy Sue Designs "Mabel Lucy Atwell Rainy Day set.
thenn just mat and layered to give the design an edge.
Thanks for visiting

Sing a Song ATC Challenge

Hi
I'm a bit delicate today following a fabulous evening out at a wedding do. So taking advantage of not really feeling like doing anything, despite the lovely sunshine, I thought I'd catch up with a bit of blogging.
Following my first stampotique ATC swap run by Nikki Woodward over on Stampotique Facebook page I just had to sign up for another.
This months theme was "Sing a Song" so we had to make song inspired ATC's using of course fabulous Stampotique stamps. We only had to make one to send but I had so many idea's running around my mind that I made 2 each for the people I was sending to. They have now all been recieved and shared on Facebook so I can now show them on my blog.

First song was "Play that Funky Music" - Wild Cherry
and he even spins round on his record.

2nd title was "Girls on film" - Duran Duran

3rd Song "The Lady is a Tramp" - Frank Sinatra

and finally Song number 4 "Dancing Queen" - Abba

Lots of different techniques and mediums on each ATC but all featuring a winderful character from Stampotique.
I sent them out housed in a little card

Simple card using a previously made gelli print
Tape stamp - Viva Las Vegas Stamps
sentiment - Indigoblu.
That was a fabulous swap and I received some fab ones in return, roll on Augusts swap.
Thanks for stopping by and see you soon

Lots of Laughs at C4E

Hi
Well PHEW! and double PHEW!! how hot is it here in the UK at the moment! and I don't do heat!!
I have braved my sauna normally known as my craftroom to make a DT piece for this weeks challenge at Crafts4eternity. I have been a very bad DT member these last few weeks and not managed to post anything at all for the challenges, but I have managed, despite my day job consuming my life at the moment, to make a quick piece for this weeks challenge which is
"Lots of Laughs"
Our challenge for you all for the coming week is to create any crafty project that will make us laugh or at least smile.
I recently ordered and recieved from the U.S. some stamps from  Viva las Vegas Stamps so have used one of them for my DT piece.
The main stamped image is one of  the Banksy collection called "Banksy Bazooka Mona Lisa"
and "Banksy Bombs"
Targets are from Patti Trolley Parrish
Background simply made using weathered wood and pumice stone distress stains with a splashing of fired brick distress stain
"Smile2 stamped using Tim Holtz "Mini worn text"
So why not pop over to Crafts4eternity and make us laugh.
One randomly chosen winner will recieve a $12 voucher to spend in Di's Digi Downloads who are kindly sponsoring this weeks challenge.
I hope you allhave a lovely weekend

Dreaming of Summer at FSC

Hi everyone
It's time for another new fortnightly challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and our fortnightly theme is
"Dreaming of Summer"
Thankfully at the moment in the UK we don't have to do much dreaming as we are enjoying a rather warm spell and hopefully we are all making the most of it.
I have, as my DT piece for this challenge, made a summer inspired wall hanging.

I intended to make a small card (Beach huts) but it grew into this wall hanging.
I have used the following stamps:-
Crafty Individuals - Postcard CI-119 (cut the sunbathing lady out from it)
Seaside - CI-278 (several from the set)
I started with some ranger watercolour card and using the beach hut stamp coloured them with distress pens, sprayed lightly with water and then stamped them to give the watercolour effect.
Background has then been coloured using distress inks.
This was then mounted onto a blank manilla postacard aged with vintage photo DI.
Inbetween those 2 layers I coloured cheese cloth with distress stain.
This was then mounted onto a piece of corrugated card which I spread Wendy Vecchi crackle paste onto, dried and then coloured with distress stains and edged with vintage photo DI.
I added 2 eyelets to thread some twine through so it can be hung.
So if you are feeling inspired by summer please pop over and show us your project.
Remember Fashionable Stamping challenge is a challenge for stampers, so stamping should strongly feature on your project.
We are lucky to be sponsored by a fabulous company called Flonzcraft.
The winner of each challenge will receive a very generous voucher for Leo’s Store of $20.
I look forward to you joining us for this fortnights challenge
thanks for stopping by, we all love visitors

Playing with 3" x 5" Gelli plate

Hi
I recently bought the newly released 3"x 5" gelli plate and today managed to steal a couple of hours to have a play, the verdict is "I love it"!! It's so much fun using it as a stamping tool. It is also great to push into stencils as it just squidges through the gaps.
So using "Just Chill" stencil from Splodge Away which is part of their Street Art Kit I just kept preparing my little gelli plate and stamping it through the stencil.
I just love the effect that it creates and so sharp within the stencil.
I can feel an addiction coming on...........................
I am entering this into this months challenge at Country View Crafts Challenges the theme for the month is
"STENCIL IT"
Thanks for stopping by and I would love to know what you think
See you soon

Geek Chic

Hi
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. I have had a fabulous sunny day out on the water jet skiing, my first outing of the year and long overdue. Needless to say I now ache from head to foot. So I thought I would just take a chill out moment and post this card I have made using a gelli print I made a while back and one of my new stamps from Viva Las Vegastamps, I ordered a couple of new stamp plates and they have just arrived from America. So for a quick card I made this.

Stamps used include:-
VLVstamps - Whimsical kids in futuristic hats, stamped using VersaMagic midnight black onto gesso'd dictionary paper.
Deep red Cling stamps - Quantum background (stamped in both black and white)
Kaisercraft - Diamonds
Bert and Gert's - Geek Chic from set MS008
For extra detail I stamped their bow ties again, coloured them with Dylusions and decoupaged them on. The glass of their glasses have glossy accents on them, again to add some detail.
Right off now to sink into my sofa, hope you all have a lovely weekend and see you soon
Love
