Cherish Every Moment for AALL & Create

Hi Everyone
I'm back this Thursday to share a mixed media piece that I have made for AALL & Create. For this piece I have used the A4 stamp #160 Pencilled Flower designed by Tracy Evans.

I have used a That's Crafty 6" x 6" MDF chunky to create on.

My piece started by creating some gelli prints in my chosen colour scheme and I have gone with a selection of pastel colours because I wanted it to have a light springtime feel to it.

I needed a couple of gelli prints to cover the entire chunky and did several pulled prints to be able to choose the best two. Once having selected my prints I stamped the image on both of the 2 prints. To stamp this large stamp I used a Versafine Clair ink pad, which for me gives the best transfer of the image onto the acrylic paint gelli print, I also used the A4 acrylic stamping block that AALL 7 Create have made to use especially with these large stamps. The acrylic block offers lots of flex to allow you to get a good print.

The next step was to cover the MDF chunky and line up the pieces so the colours matched and glue them to the MDF and trim the pieces once they were adhered to the MDF.

Then comes the fun bit to colour the sections that I wanted and for this I chose to use some coloured pencils. I also wanted to add some texture and chose to fill up some the circles with co-ordinating seed beads which I added by first putting on some heavy matt medium and then sprinkling the beads on top. Needless to say this wasn't easy and I ended up with beads everywhere, I'm still finding them all over the place lol. To added further dimension and a different texture I added glossy accents to some of the other circles.

Next was to use the main flower and make it look like it was growing on the piece by making it 3D. I stamped the flower part of the stamp onto white card and cut it out. To make it mirror the flower on the stamp I used a piece of black wire to become its stem and then added it to the panel. The flower head and it's leaves are both covered in glossy accents. I decided to leave it black and white so it stood out from the panel.

I then doodled in every enclosed part of all the letters and number detail within the stamp on the panel to add a little contrast to the piece. I added some more seed beads to the bottom right side to add some grounding for the flower and edged the panel with distress ink. The final addition were the words "Cherish Every Moment" which are within the details of the stamp, so again I just stamped a section of the stamp that held this statement onto white card, cut it out, covered it with glossy accents and added it to the panel.

I love these A4 stamps to use as one large stamp or alternatively you can just use certain parts of them on your projects.
