Wk 2 as GDT for Stampotique

Hi Everyone
It's my 2nd week as GDT over at Stampotique Designers challenge Blog and the theme of
"Use Lace/Ribbon or both" continues into it's 2nd week. Here is my piece for this weeks inspiration.

I have gone for a clean and simple look this time leaving plenty of white space. I have added my lace by using the lace as a stamp, totally covering pieces of lace in paint, laying on the card and running over them using a clean brayer. I have then added the paint coloured lace to the card as well. I have also added various bits of ribbon and fibres to add more texture.
My image is "Mothfab" one of my earliest Stampotique purchases and still one of my favourites whom I have coloured with pencils. Sentiment is from "Barcode Text".
If you'd love to play along you can do HERE, at the end of March 2 random entries will win $30 to spend at Stampotique.com

GDT for Stampotique

Hi Everyone

I am delighted, "woop woop" to have been asked to be the Stampotique Designers Blog
guest designer for March which means I get to be part of their talented team for a few weeks. I have been a huge fan of Stampotique stamps for many years now and have collected over 200 of their stamps. This last 12 months, due to increased work pressure, I haven't had the chance to play with them nearly as much as I would have wished so I jumped at the chance for a full month of Stampotique fun.
The first challenge theme for March is

Use Ribbon or Lace (or both)

I start with an MDF panel that I have covered with fabric which I have given a rust treatment. My starring character is one of my favourite Stampotique stamps 'Dwindled' which I have stamped onto fabric and coloured with diluted paints. I have built up my background using several lace trims and ribbons and a lot of machine sewing to add to the texture. The word "fragile', which is from the 'Barcode Text' stamp, has also been stamped onto fabric, machine stitched around and cut out. There are tiny beads and paint splatters to add even more texture.
I hope you like it and I will see you same time next week with a totally different take on this theme.
Thanks for popping in

Just Words at That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
Another 2 weeks have flown by which means that it's time for a new challenge theme for our fortnightly challenge over at That's Crafty Challenge blog.
Our theme for the next 2 weeks is
JUST WORDS
We are looking for pieces where text is the main or a large part of your project.
I have created an art journal page

I have completed a page in my Dylusions 8" x 8" art journal and have used loads of different paints on top of a page that had originally had been used to clean off my brayer from previous makes. Unusually for me there is no stamping everything has been stencilled. Main focal stencils are Donna Downey but the background includes various brands including some of That's Craft Dinky stencils and Dylusions Stencils. I had great fun with this one as it has been splodged and splattered till I was happy.
The rest of the design team have made, as usual, some fabulous pieces to inspire you.
We would love it if you joined in with us this fortnight and don't forget one randomly chosen entry will win £20 to spend online at That's Crafty.
So what are you waiting for come along and join in HERE

Rediscovering Zettiology Stamps

Hi Everyone

We all love playing with new stamps, and nobody more than me, but I am attempting to go through some of my older collections and blow the dust off them. This time I am playing with some of the Zettiology stamps of Teesha Moore. I remember seeing some of her stamps and then having the mission of tracking them down, to me that is sometimes the fun. Needless to say the collection I have came from the U.S. and I waited so long for them I will never give up my collection so the least I thought I should do was give some of them an inking. I have created a tri-fold ATC card with them.

I cut ATC's from mixed media card and then covered each ATC with torn up, gelli printed deli papers, using the deli papers or tissue paper allows the patten below to show through creating some lovely patterns. I then stamped the images onto thick white paper and lightly coloured with pencils and then added to the ATC's. For some additional detail I have added some machine stitching. Sentiment is from Stampotique.

Hope you all have a great day

I Heart You for That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone

We start a new challenge fortnight today over at That's Crafty Challenges and our theme for the coming 2 weeks is
"I Heart You!"
We are looking for anything with hearts!

My heart comes from one of the latest stamps from Andy Skinner from Stampendous. This is the reverse side of a piece using one of That's Crafty large MDF Tag stands I posted several weeks ago, the other side you can see HERE.
I have used Decoart media fluid paints and all stamps and stencils are all designed by Andy Skinner. The details of how I created the background can be found in the earlier post  (link above).
As you can see I haven't gone the romantic route with my inspiration.
We would love to see how you interpret our theme with your heart projects so why not come and play along with us to be in with a chance to be the lucky winner of a £20 gift voucher to spend online at That's Crafty.
For more inspiration from my talented team mates and to join in just pop over and join us HERE
Hope to see you over there

Oh Buddha Pt. 2

Hi Everyone
Following yesterdays post I had to have another play with the fabulous Buddha stamp from Inkylicious. So here is another make.

I used a background from my stash that I had made using the shaving foam technique and Dylusions sprays. Stamped the image with archival and masked off. Stencilled the background this time using archival ink as the gaps were only thin and didn't want any paint to seep under. Then stencilled the words using one of Tim's stencils and Dylusions paints that matched the colours that I used on the shaving foam. Sentiment is from Altenew.
Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by

Oh Buddha!

Hi Everyone

I have for ages wanted a decent sized Buddha stamp and found one by Inkylicious which is just over 5 inches in size, it arrived today and I had to play!

Background was created using Dylusions sprays using the cling film technique. I then stamped the Buddha and then again onto scrap paper that I then cut out to use as a mask.
I masked the Buddha off and stamped the text stamp (Stampotique) over the background. Over that, keeping the mask in place, I then stencilled over using black Dylusions paint and a round blending tool. Into some of the circle spaces I stamped the grid circles (Stampendous).
Finished off with a Tim Holtz adhesive chit chat saying.
I would also like to enter this into the current Pink & Orange challenge over at Paperartsy blog HERE
and Craft Stampers 'Take it, Make it' challenge for February - Anything Goes Stamping Challenge HERE
Thanks for popping in and have a fabulous weekend
