Hi Everyone
Having not got home from work till after 9pm what better way to unwind than a bit of a crafty session. I managed to get the finishing touches done to a piece I have been working on.
Using the backing card from a mixed media paper pad I decided to experiment with Gelatos, I've had some for ages but have never really used them, until now that is. This was only going to be an experimental piece but I quite like how it turned out.
As I said I started with the cardboard backing from a Strathmore mixed media pad and covered it with pieces of torn book pages and then I covered it in gesso. I then randomly drew all over it with Gelatos and sprayed on water using a large paintbrush and a piece of old natural sponge I moved the colour around until I was happy with the result.
Then came all the stamping, using:-
Carabelle Studio XXL stamp "Mecanique Steampunk"
Tim Holtz "Documented"
Stampendous are the circles
and the birds a partial stamping of a Katzelkrafts collage stamp.
Artistic Outpost "Think and Wonder" (Children)
I then stenciled the Donna Downey "Anemone Duo" Stencil with Wendy Vecchi black texture paste (I turned it into a poppy) and painted it with Paperartsy Fresco finish paint.
Sentiment is from Tim's Small Talk stickers book.
This was never intended to end up as a finished piece but I just kept going with it and ended up with a piece that I like, I love it when that happens.
I think I need to buy some more Gelatos now!!
Hope you like it
