A Quick Make Before Bed

Hi Everyone
Having just watched England lose the rugby, well done Wales. I thought I would just have a quick play with the new Inkylicious stamp "Dreams Come True".

Making a quick background by smearing 4 mini distress inks onto an acrylic block, lightly misting with water, then stamping it onto my card. Quick dry with a heat gun and then stamped on it with the Inkylicious stamp which includes the sentiment.
Mat and layered onto black card and mounted onto an 6" x 6" card blank.
Right I can away to my bed now
Goodnight and see you soon

Background has been created by rubbing Portfolio pastels through a stencil and then blending with my fingers. Additional stamping from Dina Wakley stamp set "Textures"
Finally the sentiment has been created by cutting out the letters from Wendy Vecchi's "Licence Plate Art".

Autumn Colours at Mixed Media World this month

Hi everyone
Hope you all all having a great Sunday. Today, as is with the 2nd Sunday of the month, my 2nd DT post of the day.
We are launching a new challenge month over at Mixed Media World.
This months challenge has been chosen by my team mate Laine and Lain has chosen

AUTUMN COLOURS

We are looking for all your mixed media projects to capture all the wonderful colours of Autumn.

With time having been against me these last few weeks I have created a gelli plate background using leaves collected from my garden. I made a similar background a few days ago so for more details just click  HERE. I then toned down the gelli print with ground expresso distress ink. I then stamped the raindrops - Deep Red Rubber Stamp company and highlighted with a white gel pen. My main image is one of my favourite Angie Girl stamps by Unity Stamps. I have coloured my image using Polychromos pencils. Finally added my sentiment which is from Carabelle Studio.

These wonderful pencils really work well over the paint background.
My team mates have created some fabulous inspiration for this months challenge and well worth popping over for a look.
We all hope that you will come and join in with us this month. Our challenge this month is being sponsored by Glitzcraft who have kindly donated a £15 voucher to spend in their online store. This will be given to the fabulous winner of this challenge.

WORDS - (Quotes or sentiments) at Fashionable Stamping Challenge this month

Hi everyone
It's the start of a new challenge month at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and our theme is

WORDS - Quotes or sentiments.

Remember we are a stamping challenge so rubber stamping must be the main feature of whatever you make.

I have used a piece of stampbord as my centre piece. This is my first attempt at using stampbord and I think to get a stronger contrast with the scraping I needed to have added stronger colour to it. The photo doesn't really show the effect but I have to admit it's a bit subtle. I coloured the stampbord with Cosmic Shimmer colour cloud blending inks. Stamped the butterfly from Tim Holtz "Perspective" stamp set with archival ink on top.

You can see a little more of the scraping detail on this photo.
The sentiment, that I have coloured with Polychromos, is also from the same stamp set.
My teamies have created a variety of different interpretations of the theme and you can see them all
We would all love it if you joined in with us this month and remember one lucky winner will recieve a $20 voucher to spend in the online store of our sponsor Flonzcraft.

Lovely Leaves - For That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi everyone
It's time to start another fortnightly challenge over at
and our theme for the next 2 weeks is
"Lovely Leaves"

With not much crafty time on the agenda at the moment sadly. I needed to make something reasonably quick. So out came the gelli plate. I made this early Wednesday morning before I went to work and what the neighbours must have thought as I foraged around my front garden at 8am in the morning with a bed head and a pair of large scissors whilst still in my dressing gown I do not know?
I collected a selection of leaves that were to be used for my piece. Armed with a selection of cuttings I took them back to my craftroom.
I brayered on a selection of Paperartsy fresco paints onto the gelli plate and then laid the leaves on top of the paint. Taking a piece of copy paper I then pulled a print, this removed some of the paint surrounding the leaves. I then removed the leaves, which had made imprints into the paint and pulled another print. This 2nd print captures all the detail the leaves left in the paint.
I then stamped my sentiment which is from Tim Holtz "Written Thoughts". Mat and layered onto an 8 x 8 card blank. Done!
I know it is relatively simple but I think it creates a fabulous effect, even if the creative process does scare the neighbours.
My talnted team mates have created some wonderful creations with leaves which is well worth a look HERE
Hopefully you will feel inspired to come and join in with us. As always, one lucky winner will win a£20 voucher to spend online at That's Crafty

Aren't You Going to Run?

Hi Everyone
There has been a lack of posts from me these last 2 weeks mainly as there has been a lack of spare crafty time, work has been really hectic and I've just had no time at all to spend making anything. With a welcome day off today I have had the chance to finish off a canvas that I started ages ago and it also fits in with this weeks challenge over at Stampotique Designers Challenge where the theme for the week is "Use Only 2 Stamps".
The 2 stamps I have used is the scissor wielding "Penelope" and "Bla Bla Bla"

This is a 6" x 6" box canvas. Background has been made with various paints and stencils. I have stamped the Bla Bla Bla stamp with Dylusions black paint. Penelope has been stamped and coloured using Prisma Colour pencils and added to the canvas with gel medium.

I have also added some torn strips of washi tape. Book text has been cut out to add my sentiment, it just made me smile when I found it.

Hope you like it and I'll hopefully see you soon as normal service resumes!!
