Person or People at Fashionable Stamping Challenge

Hi everyone
and time for a new challenge fortnight at Fashionable Stamping challenges. It was my turn to choose our theme and I have chosen
"PEOPLE or a PERSON"
For my piece I have chosen to use the fabulous women stamps from Finnabair.
and made this Triptych using size 8 tags

I started by preparing the background of the tags with Dylusions paint applied with a Ranger mini ink blending tool, these paints blend beautifully. I then stamped all the images and background stamps with versafine and heat embossed in black embossing powder. I then added highlights with a white Posca pen. Over the top of all this I then stenciled Wendy Vecchi black embossing paste through 3 different Tim Holtz layering stencils. Once dry I then added silver Viva decor inka gold, which I also added to the edges of my tags before mounting then onto black card.My words are also from the Finnabair stamp sets which havebeen heat embossed in white onto black card, cut out, and added with 3D glue gel.
Here you can see each individual tag which you can click on for a better view

I have used the following stamps from Finnabair:-
Don't Forget to fly, Now is the Right Time,Trust the Magic,Rust & Dust
Clear stamps Script, Bubbles, Mesh & Holes
Tims Stencils used:- Flourish, Latticework & Harlequin.
We would love it if you came and joined us in our challenge this fortnight will your "People or Person" creations.

Use Some Metal at Less is more

Hi Again
My 2nd post of the day and I'm enjoying a lazy day just getting crafty. I have been finishing things off, some DT pieces, but have also made a piece to join in with this weeks challenge over at
The theme over there this week is "Use some Metal" my metal is the bird charm that I have added to my C&S card.

I have used a wooden stamp that I bought from Facebook, no idea what it's called but it is by Catslife Press. I have stamped it in Potting Shed Archival ink onto an ATC sized piece of watercolour card that I coloured by adding distress inks to an acrylic block and misting with water before pressing it onto the paper.
Other stamp is from Tim Holtz "Simple Sayings"
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Every Possibility.......

Hi Everyone
I have a card I made using the recently released "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Carabelle Studio Stamps

This is a one layer card stamping my image of Alice first and masking off with Pebeo masking gum before applying distress inks to the card and then stenciling over the top. I then stamped several circles all from Patty Tolley Parrish Stamps.
Sentiment is from Tim Holtz "Stuff to Say" set, stamped and embossed with white.
I then removed the gum and coloured Alice with Prismacolor pencils.
Hope you are all enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend

A bit of Banksy

Hi Everyone
Well I'm day off today and for some reason was up and awake at the crack of dawn with the whole day ahead of me. Shall I tackle the ironing? the hoovering? the washing? Nah! I'm away to my craftroom. So I have made a quick card Banksy inspired card this morning.

My background is made from graduating distress inks through a square stencil and I masked off some of the squares as I wanted the background to look like a graphic equalizer like we all had on those big stack stereo's. the main Banksy Image is "Getto Blaster" by Bee Crafty.
Other stamps are arrows - Halftone basics Waltzing Mouse Stamps
Sound Waves - Unity Stamps
Sentiment - Loud Music by Indigoblu
All mat and layered onto a 7" x 7" card blank
Hope you like it and I really now have to go and tackle my earlier list, sigh!!

"Old Favourites" at Fashionable Stamping Challenge

Hi Everyone
and I am back with you as we have the start of another challenge fortnight over at
our theme for the next 2 weeks is "old Favourites" we would like you to use an old forgotten but favourite stamp on your project.

For my project I have made a card and my "Old and forgotten favourite" stamp is "Jane" by Indigoblu, I have only used half of it. I stamped her onto lightly gesso covered dictionary paper and then cut her in half. I have added a little colour to her using Spectrum Noir pencils.
She has been glued to a background of distress inks that I applied first to Tim Holtz flourish  misted lightly with water then used the stencil to stamp the design.
I have also stamped Carabelle - "French Lily Background"
The sentiment, applied with glue gel for a 3D effect is from Tim Holtz "Small Talk" stickers.
As usual we would all love it if you popped along HERE and joined in with us. My team mates have all been searching through their stamps to find their favourite forgotten one and have made some fabulous things to inspire you.
We accept any style or type of project but you must include a stamped image as your main focal point of that project.
One randomly chosen enrty will win $20 to spend in the online store of our generous sponsor

De-Stressing with a Little Dina

Hi Everyone
To escape from the mayhem that my life seems to be in at the moment I have escaped to a little oasis of peace, my craftroom.

I have made a card using one of the fabulous silhouette images from Dina Wakleys "Silhouetted Women"
I first coloured the stamp with 3 different colours of Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers and then very lightly misted with water before stamping onto mixed media card. I then covered the image with clear embossing powder and heat embossed the image, then repeated so I had 3 images.
I then used distress ink for my background. Once dry I then removed the embossing powder with a hot iron and copy paper.
Onto the card blank I stamped the Dina text from her "Textures" set and the #sentiment is from Tim Holtz.
Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by

Vintage French Month at Mixed Media World

Hi Everyone
and it's time for you to join us for our new monthly challenge at

Our theme for the month ahead has been chosen by my team mate Debs who has chosen
VINTAGE FRENCH

Now this one took me right out of my comfort zone but I ended up, well I hope I ended up with, my take on a vintage Moulin Rouge poster (thank you Mr Google)
I started with Tim Holtz's Postage stamp die and rectangles movers & shapers, cut it several times from mount board to create some depth. It was then painted using Dylusions paint. I made my back panel painted it the same colour and then added my stamped images to it. I then layered up my stamped and fussy cut pieces adding them between each layer of mountboard to give a 3D feel. I then cut a piece of acetate to fit, stamped on it with stazon and glued it to the frame covering all the stamped pieces. I then put the top layer on which was painted and stamped. I finally added some stamped and cut out pieces to finish. The Moulin Rouge banner has also been triple embossed to give it a glossy look. I finally added the black feathers, you can't have a showgirl with out feathers.
The stamps I have used are:-
Tim Holtz - Papillon
Graphic 45 Curtain Call
Kanban Diva.

Our fabulous sponsor for this challenge is Glitzcraft who have kindly donated a £15 voucher for one lucky winner to spend in their online store.
So as you can see it's all very "Oh La La" at Mixed Media World so why not pop along and get all French with us Here.
All details and rules can be found on our blog.
Au revoir

All have been stamped onto a gelli print background that I have stamped over in Archival Magenta Hue using 2 of the new strip stamps by Carabelle studio - Text Grunge and Un Regard Sur Mon Histoire.
