New Stampotique stamps and New Pencils

Hi Everyone
After a hectic 2 days at work with another 2 to go before normality resumes, whatever normal is? what better way to chill out than to play with new stuff. I recently bought some of the newly released Stampotique stamps and got myself a full set of Polychromos pencils. I sold some of my stash I no longer use and that paid for my pencils, so I got them free, well that's the way I look at it!!

I have always previously coloured with Prismacolour or Spectrum Noir pencils so did I need another set? After playing with the Polychromos yes I do!!! I have a lot more practicing to do but my initial feelings on them is I love them!!! There is a place for all of them in my life but I think I might just have found a new favourite.

As I haven't mastered them at all yetI didn't want to tackle the background so I have coloured the background using distress inks as watercolours.
Stampotique stamps used are:-
Mansfield Sea Turtle
Marcel Sea Turtle
Barcode Text
I would like to enter this into this weeks challenge at Stampotique Designers Challenge who have the theme of Anything Goes.

Alphabet Soup at That's Crafty Challenges

Hi Everyone
It's time for another fortnightly challenge at That's Crafty Challenges and our theme for the next 2 weeks is
"ALPHABET SOUP"
so we are looking for any type of project that features the alphabet/letters on it.
Life, well work to be honest, has got in the way of any type of crafting these last 2 weeks so I have gone for something quite clean & simple as my DT piece to support this challenge

I think this guy needs no introduction as I think you will all recognise him as one of Tim's Crazy Birds. The background has been made using another of Tim's recently released stamp sets "Documented"
I have kept it monotone except a splash of colour for his beak. All colouring is with Spectrum Noir pencils. Tim's Label Letters have been used to add my sentiment.
If you want to see all the fabulous makes from my team mates you can do so HERE, we have a variety of projects that will hopefully inspire you to come and play along with us.
Also one lucky winner will recieve a £20 voucher to spend online at That's Crafty.

If I Ruled the World.........

Hi Everyone
Sadly after 2 weeks off work I have to go back to work tomorrow, I went to tidy up my craftroom but couldn't help having a little play at the same time (needless to say it isn't now that tidy). I have made a tag using Kate Crane's "Queen of Everything" from Stampotique

I had this tag lying around that I had used up some left over Dina Wakley magenta paint on through 3 That's Crafty Dinky stencils diamond circles, chequerboard and circles. I then sprayed on some Dylusions lemon zest spray and some Hickory smoke distress spray stain. I doodled around the stencilling with both a black and a white pen.
My image The Queen has been coloured with Prismacolour pencils and my quote has been typed out on my vintage typewriter.
I have eaten sooooo much bad stuff whilst I have been off and can feel that a few pounds have gone on so back to my healthy eating regime tomorrow, but why oh why can't cake have NO calories??

Under The Sea for That's Crafty Challenges

Hi everyone
It's time for another challenge fortnight at That's Crafty Challenges and our theme for the next 2 weeks is
 "UNDER THE SEA"
so we all can't wait to see what you create. My team mates have created a fabulous variety of makes to get your creative juices flowing and to start things off here's mine.

I have made a card using stamps from the following Dylusions stamps sets:-
Under the Sea
Inbetweenies
Say how it is
I stamped my images then masked them off before applying acrylic paint to create my background. Once all the paint was dry I removed the paint from over my masked images (I masked with Pebeo gum).
Images were coloured with Prismacolour pensils.

I then stamped some plant life and stencilled the bubbles through the That's Crafty bubbles dinky stencil with white ink. Finally I stamped and cut out my sentiment.

Like I said, we'd love it if you came and played along with us HERE and as always with our challenges, one lucky winner will receive a £20 voucher to spend online at That's Craftys store.

The Eyes have it at less is more this week

Hi
A quick post from me, whilst I am in the middle of decorating the bedroom, to join in with this weeks
Less is More Challenge. It's one layer card week with the theme "The Eyes Have It"

I have used the eyes part of a VLVS face stamp, and masked it off so I just used the eyes, this I repeated 4 times. I have then blinged the eyes up, there is a little sparkle on each one which the picture doesn't really pick up. These are the eyes of the girls ready for their night out.
Sentiment is from Art Impressions.

Hope you like it and off now to hang another strip of wallpaper!!

Gorgeous Textures at Mixed Media World

Hi Everyone
I know I have been here already today with a DT post but I have another DT make for you as
Mixed Media World Launch their August challenge and our theme is
"GORGEOUS TEXTURES"
So this month we need to see you using all your different media's and materials to create a fabulous textured piece.
There is, as usual, some fabulous inspiration from my team mates and you should really pop over and take a look.
For my Gorgeous Textures piece I have made a textured heart

I have started with a large MDF heart which I covered in gesso. I then added, in this order, texture paste, tissue crinkled up so it looks like veins and applied with matt gel mediumb strips of bandage again applied with gel medium, more tissue, then another layer of gesso, crackle paste and when that was all thoroughly dried I added water and sprinkled on grey Brusho and let those crystals do their magic, I love how the brusho has run into the cracks of the crackle paste. when I was happy with this effect I dried with a heat tool. I then added London Bus fresco paint to some of the raised area's of my project.

I didn't want to cover up too much of the background so added 2 die cut hearts cut from old music paper, these were sandwiched with more bandaged fibres which were slightly coloured with the brusho grey. They were then roughly stitched together. I outlined the largest heart with black cotton to give the heart some definition leaving trailing threads. Final touches were a punched heart from painted cardstock with the stapled kiss and some fine red fibre and a  Donna Downey stamped sentiment which I then stitched around and cut out.

We would love it if you came and joined in with us this month and share your own gorgeously textured makes, you can see all the makes of the DT HERE for some great inspiration.
One lucky winner will win 3 images from our sponsor this month Old Vintage Shop.

Summer Fun For Fashionable Stamping Challenges

Hi Everyone
It's time for a new monthly challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges and as this is our August challenge our theme is
"SEASIDE OR BEACH"

I have used one of the fabulous Girlfriends stamps from Art Impressions, this image is from the "Stayin Afloat" set. It's been absolutely ages since I've inked any of these fabulous girls up and I had forgotten how fabulous these gals are!! Wouldn't you just like to be part of this girly gang?
Background is created with brusho crystals which I applied over my masked image. I then removed the mask and coloured the gals using Prismacolour pencils and blending solution.

My team mates have all created their own interpretation of this months theme so there is some fabulous inspiration for you HERE
We would love it if you join in with us this month. We only have one rule of entry and that is Rubber stamping must be the main focus of your chosen project. One randomly chosen winner will win a $20 voucher to spend in the online store of our fabulous sponsor Flonzcraft.

Crazy Bird in a Spin

Hi Everyone
After a busy day gardening, thankfully the cordless hedge trimmer has run out of battery, I'm having a little rest in my craft room and thought I would share with you a card I made recently. I'm still playing with my toy paint spin machine, thanks Hermine Koster you have given me a new addiction!!
This time I have used aqua tints to spin with.

The bird I am sure needs no introduction (Tim's Crazy Birds) but I have given her a heart.

Coloured with distress inks and then spritz with distress marker spritzing tool, not my technique as I saw this on line but can't remember where, but fab technique, thanks.

Splattered heart stamp - Indigoblu
Sentiment - Tim Holtz

Right off to see if there is enough power in my hedge trimmer, sigh!!

Boomshockalocka!

Happy Sunday Everyone
I hope you have all got a lovely day ahead of you. I was up with the lark this morning, not out of choice though, don't you just hate it when you can have a lie in but wake up early and can't get back to sleep. So I am up and at them this morning!!
Thought I would start the day with a Banksy themed card.

I started with a distress ink stencilled background from my stash and added the Inspird by Banksy image Ghetto Rat from Beecrafty.

I heat embossed his chain using a versamark pen and gold embossing powder, every rat needs his bling!
Other stamps are from Ka Boom set by Cas-ual Fridays
Cool stamp unknown.
Have a Boomshockalocka Sunday
and I'll see you soon

Anything but a Card Challenge at Katzelkraft for August

Hi Everyone
As it's the start of a new month today, that also means the start of a new monthly challenge at
Katzelkraft Challenge Blog
I got the chance to pick this months theme and I have chosen
"ANYTHING BUT A CARD"
and to start this theme I have made a seaside themed wall hanging

I have hopefully captured the thoughts of summer on this with words from Andy Skinner stencil "Serendipity. There is lots of texture on this with texture paste which unfortunately the photograph doesn't really pick up. The stamped image I have used is "Mouettes" which you will find HERE.
I stamped it onto tissue paper and applied with gel media.

All colouring, after a coat of gesso, has been done with Gelatos and distress inks. Also a white gel pen.
I would love it if you joined in with us this month, you could be the winner of a 15 euro voucher to spend on Katzelkraft branded stamps.
Simple rule is to use at least one Katzelkraft stamp on your project.
