"Go Figure" for That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
Today we start another of our fortnightly challenges over at That's Crafty Challenge Blog and our theme is
"Go Figure"
For me it makes me think of numbers, so my inspiration piece for you this fortnight features numbers, in particular the number 13.

For those of you that follow my blog you will know that I just love these recently released stamps from Tim Holtz. I have used one of the images from the "Evolution" set.
Starting with a piece of Tim's watercolour card I stencilled Tim's arrows using distress inks. All colouring has been done with distress inks and all stamping is using Tim's stamps. all of the embellishments added are Tim's Idea-ology pieces and stickers. I then mounted onto a That's Crafty 4" x 6" greyboard and added a little bulldog clip that I gave a rust effect these clips also allow you to hang your piece.
I'm sure you'll love what the rest of the design team have created all of which you can see HERE
With the Bank Holiday weekend nearly upon us and the usual bank holiday weather for the UK forcast, rain!! Why not come and play along with us, if not, you do have 2 weeks to join in with us. As always with our challenge, one randomly chosen winner will receive a £20 voucher to spend online at That's Crafty online store.

Peace Man

Hi everyone

I have a card for you today as I have at last got around to inking up one of the stamps from the new   'Les Jungles' set from Katzelkraft that have been sitting on my desk now for a couple of weeks.

isn't he fabulous?
Background has been created by first sprinkling Lindy's Stamp gang powders onto mixed media card and lightly misting to activate the bright colours. I then placed the peace mask over the colour (cut on my silhouette cameo) and sprinkled grey brusho's over the piece again lightly misting with water to activate the colour. once dry I then removed the mask. I stamped the wonderful monkey and removed some of the colour with bleach before colouring him with coloured pencils.

Here you can see the fabulous chap in all his glory

This was then mounted on black card and then on a card blank. Sentiment has been added using Tim's alpha stickers.

The rest of the wonderful characters can be seen on the full set which can be purchased Here aren't they fab?

I can't wait to ink up more of these guys
thanks for popping in I really appreciate your visit

Lets Face It - For That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi everyone
It's the start of another challenge fortnight over at That's Crafty Challenge blog and our theme for our new challenge is
"Lets Face It"
We would love to see your interpretation of our theme.
Here's mine

The background has been created using the clingfilm technique and Dylusions sprays. I then stencilled through Stencil Girls "Mystique"with black archival ink. Over the top I stencilled a variety of different sized circles using the ink from a white ink pad this gives it a bokeh effect. Finally I stamped my sentiment from Kaisercraft "Way of Life" set. Matted onto black card and mounted onto a card blank.
For more inspiration just pop over Here and see what my talented team mates have created.
If you decide to play along with us, and I hope you do, you could be the random winner of a £20 voucher to spend online at the That's Crafty store, there is loads to choose from including all the latest, must have, releases.

Just Clowning Around

Hi everyone
Well I hope you feel better than me as I am full of a cold, that to be honest, I could do without.
I have been sewing again, I'm loving making these art dolls and I am learning more about sewing as I construct them and really enjoying the learning process.

Meet Clarissa the Clown

Clarissa stands over 17" tall from head to toe and has been constructed from both new and vintage fabrics and buttons. Stitching is a combination of machine free motion and utility and finished with some hand stitching.

Aged effect has been added using inks.

I hope you like her

See you all soon

All things bright & Beautiful at That's Crafty Challenge blog

Hi everyone
Time for another challenge fortnight at That's Crafty challenge blog and our theme for the next 2 weeks is
"All Things Bright & Beautiful"
and you are free to interpret our theme however you want, here's how I interpreted it

Our theme made me think of bright colours and flowers.
I have made an 8" x 8" panel.
Starting with a gelli print from my stash I first stamped Carabelle Studio - Balloon Flowers with magenta archival ink. I then painted around the stamped image with acrylic paints painting out the background gelli print. This leaves the original print just in the centre of the flowers.
I added some stencilling to the left. I then drew around the balloon flowers with a Dylusions black paint pen. I stamped the leaves, another Carabelle studio stamp - Leafs, on the remains of the gelli print, highlighted with a white Dylusions paint pen and added to the stalks.

Colour sentiment is from Paperartsy stamp set EEG17.
I finished with some machine stitching and washi tape.
This was then mounted onto a That's Crafty  8" x 8" grey/white board panel which I edged with black and white washi tape.
That's my take on this fortnights theme and we'd love to see how you bring our theme to life. Entering our challenge HERE gives you the chance to win a £20 voucher to spend online at the fabulous That's Crafty store.
I am also entering this into this months Craft Stamper Challenge where the theme for April is Spring Flowers
Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you soon
