Faith for AALL & Create

Hi Everyone

I here today with my 3rd, and final make for June, as part of the AALL & Create team (more to come in July).
I have been playing with one of the A4 stamps #56, this one being designed by Olga Heldwein.

I have used the stamp to make a deep wall hung piece using a That's Crafty MDF Chunkie, this one is 4.5" x 9" and I think my favourite size (but I love them all).

Here you can see each side of the piece and I love that the depth of these MDF chunkies allow you to continue your art
around the sides, top and bottom.

I didn't work directly onto the MDF, but you could, but created my background using Paperartsy paints and a brayer, building it up until I was happy with the effect.

To ensure a good stamping surface I did lightly sand the paint so it improved the clarity of the stamped image. Now these A4 stamps are huge and I found the best way to get a good stamped image is to place the stamp on your glass mat and then ink it up with black archival, I then lay the painted card onto the inked up stamp and carefully pressed down with the palm of my hand making sure that the card didn't move and ghost the stamped image.

I then measured up the piece of card and cut it to cover the MDF Chunkie.
To highlight some of the area's I stamped again but this time onto a piece of tissue paper. On the reverse of the tissue paper I painted out the parts I wanted with Chalk Paperartsy Fresco paint and then cut out the parts I wanted.

I layered them over the same part of the stamped image now on my chunkie and added them using matt medium.
Once all was dry I neatened up the white edges of card using the same paints and added some flicks of paint. I had also rusted up some chicken wire which I cut to the size I needed and added to the piece wrapping it around the side onto the front held in place with some staples.

As a final step I stamped the word Faith from #23 and toned the card to match before adding it to the wire.

Positive Vibes For AALL & Create

Hi Everyone
I'm back with you today sharing another piece using the fabulous stamps and stencils from AALL & Create as part of my guest design team spot with them for June and July.

For this week I have a card for you made using the funky #102 'Positive Vibes' stamps designed by Olga Heldwein,  don't you just love that llama who I had to give wild colourful disco hair!
My background was made using stencil #28 designed by Autour de Mwa, I used the stencil as a stamp by randomly patting distress oxide inks on it, slighty misting with water and then lay it on a piece of card. I took 2 prints this way the second being slightly more muted.
I then cut a circle from the stencil using a large circle die and then cut the circle into pieces.

I stencilled through the stencil with black archival ink to be background layer and then built on to it some of the cut circular pieces, I decided to go with the more colourful piece. With the pieces remaining I grouped them together and cut them again with a circle die this time smaller than the first one and layered these again over the others.
Next was to colour the llama,

I used prismacolour pencils to colour the llama giving him, what I would call, wild coloured disco hair.

His sunglasses, which come in the set as a separate stamp, I stamped them with black Stazon onto acetate, cut them out and added to the llama image. Isn't he just one funky dude?
A pair of sound speakers, taken from stamp set #75 Vocalist designed by Bibasha BK were coloured and cut out and added to the scene. Finally I stamped the Positive Vibes words included again with the #102 set. I mounted it onto black card before adding it to a card blank.

One of a Kind

Hi Everyone
Today, here in the UK, is Fathers day and I share with you my Fathers Day card 'One of a Kind' which refers to my Dad.

I've used a DL card for this one for a change.
Background distress oxides, all background stamping Oxides, main images black archival.
Stamped images are all Tim Holtz as is the word chip.
Today is about making a fuss of my Dad so we are all taking him out for lunch (I think he would rather watch the football though lol).
Have a fabulous day

AALL & Create - Tracy Evans Stamps

Hi
Following my announcement post on Sunday HERE to tell you all that I was honoured to be asked to be a guest designer, for a couple of months, for AALL & Create this is now my official first post as part of that team.
For my first post I have been playing with stamps designed by the talented Tracy Evans. For this post I have teamed up one of her latest sets launched this April along side one of her older sets.

I have created a 3D piece using one of That's Crafty MDF uprights.
I created my background onto a couple of pieces of thick white card rather than directly onto the MDF as I wanted to add some machine stitching. Onto a white piece of card I brayered up white and black acrylic paints. I then sprayed and dripped a selection of colours of That's Crafty matt sprays. I addded my stitching and then covered the MDF trimming it to fit with a sharp knife as I went.
Using some of the left over card I stamped the flowers, coloured them with the matt sprays and a touch of coloured pencils and white gel pen. They were then cut out and added to acetate to allow them to stand up as I left a little acetate tab on them to glue to the base.

The dragonflies, from Tracy's older set, were stamped and cut out again being coloured with the sprays and added to the top.

I edged everything with black and white striped washi tape to finish it off.

Here you can see the dimension of the piece.

I used the following of Tracy's Stamps #70 & #45
