Feline Fine at That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
We have a new challenge theme, starting today, over at That's Crafty Challenge Blog and out latest theme is
"FELINE FINE"
we are looking for your projects to feature cats, and that can be any sort of cat.

my inspiration for you uses the fabulous stamps by Stampendous of Laurel Burch's cats.
Briefly, I have brayered my background with acrylic paint including some gold. I have then stamped the cats and other pieces onto a seperate piece of card and heat embossed in gold, they are all Laurel Birch designs, and coloured them with copics. They were then cut out and added to the background. Sentiment has been heat embossed.

There is, as always, some more fabulous inspiration from the rest of the design team and you will also find all the details HERE.
Don't forget if you play along with us one randomly selected entry will win £20 to spend in That's Crafty online shop.

Back to Black at That's Crafty Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone
It's the start of another new challenge over at That's Crafty Challenge Blog and our new theme is
'BACK TO BLACK'
(your project needs to use a lot of black)
Myself and the rest of the design team have created a variety of inspiration for you, here's mine.

This piece started as a 6" x 6" MDF square (one of That's Crafty substrates)
I gave it a covering of black gesso and then stencilled through Andy Skinners 'Code Breaker' stencil with texture paste. I then painted over it with black Dylusions paint. I sanded the numbers back slightly when dry.
My centre piece is one of the new dies designed by Seth Apter 'Broken Maze'. Cut several times to give it depth. I have stamped over it with white ink using a formula stamp.
The centre is some pieces I have rusted myself. I have used one of Tim's paper dolls as my central character and many pieces of Idea-ology have been added.

I have also added some die cut letters to add the formula.  You can see here the bits that I have added.
I have also added addition words using my old type writer, just to add a bit of fun

Hopefully you will play along with us all in out 'Back to Black' challenge and you could be the winner of a £20 That's Crafty gift voucher to spend in their online shop.
For some fabulous inspiration from my team mates and all the details just pop over HERE

Stampotique Play

Hi Everyone
I had a birthday card to make this week so decided to make it using some Stampotique stamps as I don't get to ink these up as much as I would like these days.

As you can see I've left this one clean and simple and let the stamps speak for themselves.
I have used Dog cube, Barkabe, Towering gifts and Happy, Happy, Happy. The Happy Birthday banner has been stamped onto the card whilst I have stamped and fussy cut all the other stamps and added with 3D gel. I have used the bottom of the towering gifts stamp (masking off everything else with a post it) to stamp onto the background to give the parcels some grounding.
All have been coloured using Dina Wakely crayons and a waterbrush.

I just love these woofy guys.
Have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by

Creative Play for Mixed Up Digital Magazine

Hi Everyone

I would like to share with you today a piece that I produced for last Decembers edition of the fabulous digital magazine "Mixed Up".
The following piece was part of the 'Creative Play' feature where the magazine showcased Oak House Studio Pure inks.

I have created my piece using a That's Crafty MDF upright using lots of crackle paste through stencils and obviously coloured using Oak House Studio inks.

You will find
all the details about Mixed Up magazine and how to subscribe HERE and this appeared in December 2016 edition.
