Awkward!

Hi Everyone
Another scorcher of a day here in the UK and having spent several hours doing some gardening I've just got to darn hot!!! I'm off out shortly for a family BBQ but just grabbed an hour in my craftroom to make this quick card.

It features the duck, love it's facial expression,  from the new Farm animal stamp set from Katzelkraft, the rest all all Tim Holtz stamps the majority of which are older stamps of his so it's good to give them an airing.  All has been created on a gelli print from my stash.
The duck was stamped onto a separate piece of paper and I have changed the direction of his feet so it can tippy toe on the tightrope before I added it to the background.
I am also entering this into the latest challenge over at Country View Challenges where the theme is Be Humorous  http://countryviewchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2018/05/may-2018-be-humorous.html

Hope you're having a fabulous Sunday and thanks for stopping by

and now for something completely different!

Hi Everyone
I have something completely different today as I have had a card to make for my niece who turns 11 next week.

The stamps are by Stamping Bella designed by Danielle Donaldson and whilst they aren't my usual style I thought that they were quite different without being overly cute. Making this card also gave me the chance to do some coloured pencil work as I chose to colour them with Prismacolor pencils.

An easy background of distress oxides added after I had stamped and masked my images off.
Sentiments die cut from some oxide coloured card and added and finished with a strip of washi tape.

Hope you're having a lovely weekend so far

Empower

Hi Everyone
Nearly the weekend. I've been having a play with one of the magazine resist prints that I did recently inspired by Birgit Koopsen, you will find that post HERE. Having done several successful prints I had no idea what to do with them so just popped them away for another day, today was that another day.

I first added a little definition to the woman using coloured pencils here is the original

I then just built up the background using mostly stamps from Badass Stamps from Artchicks studio. These are all stamps from their subscription package apart from the circle which is the current freebie from Craft stamper magazine. The hearts are stencilled on from the new stencil designed by Magda Polakow for That's Crafty.
This was just a bit really even though I did turn it into a card as I didn't know what else to do with it.

Dina's Gals do Pop Art

Hi Everyone
I hope you are all making the most of this fabulous weather her in the UK, if you are as I am the garden is getting more time spent in it than our craftrooms. I did have a quick play last night and made these 2 quick cards using Dina Wakley's Gals stamps but made them pop art esque.

The Gals were stamped first then masked off whilst I stamped the dot fade stamp from Tim Holtz, I also added some of the circles which are the current free stamp with this months Craft Stamper magazine. Images were then coloured using copics. The speech bubbles were filled with a couple of quote stamps from my stash. See I told you they were quick makes.
It's ages since I joined in with a blog challenge but I am entering this into
Country View Crafts Challenge - The theme is humorous
Right I'm off to enjoy more of this fabulous sunshine before the inevitable rain comes again!!

New Stencil Play

Hi Everyone
As I have got home from work at a reasonable time today, first time this week, I have got time to write this post and share a card I have made using a new stencil that I found on Ebay.

I just love this stencil so hope you like what I have made with her. All was created onto a gelli print from my stash and I started with the central stencil first marking out with a white pen the face area which I then filled in by painting it out with white paint. I then laid the stencil over this and stencilled the black using black archival ink.

Onto a piece of copy paper I then stencilled it through again and cut it out to act as a mask. I then built up my background using a stencil from That's Crafty and a selection of Tim Holtz stamps one being his new postal stamps, again likely to become a favourite.
I also added some foiling of Chinese letters stamping the glue and foiling over the top.

The sentiment I added is quite subtle as I have heat embossed it in black but it reads 'Be your own kind of Beautiful' you can see it better on the card than the photo captures it.

I've arrived home to a large parcel of crafty goodies so I might manage a little crafty play as long as I don't fall asleep on the sofa which is more than likely to happen lol!
