Light Up with Blossoms

Hi Everyone
It's my day to share some art made using the fabulous products from AALL & Create and this time I am using The large A4 stamp Blossomed Numbers #109 designed by Tracy Evans.

I know it's not a new technique but thought I would have a go at decorating a large church candle with the complete A4 stamp.

This is quite a simple technique but can be a lovely way of making a special gift.
First I stamped and repeat stamped Tracy's Blossomed numbers onto tissue paper (I have used Tim Holtz tissue paper on a roll).

On the reverse side of the stamped tissue paper I painted out selected parts that I wanted to be bright white in my finished project.
I then turned the tissue paper back over and started colouring in the tissue paper using Zig colour clean brush markers, these pens blended really well on Tim's tissue paper.

I just continued colouring it all in. The tissue paper was slightly longer than I needed so at this point I trimmed it down so there would be a minimal overlap once on the candle.
I did leave the coloured in tissue paper overnight to allow the Zig pens to dry before I decorated the candle.

I now had to add my tissue paper to my candle I lined up the tissue paper onto the candle and I held it in place with a few dressmaking pins in order to keep it level. Starting at one end of your tissue switch on your heat gun and gently melt the wax on the candle which grabs the decorated tissue paper and embeds it into the candle. Keep moving the gun around to evenly melt the candle wax and don't over melt it so the wax runs.

You can see how white the paint looks once embedded into the wax. I placed my candle onto a holder and added some black wire and bakers twine to the bottom along with the word Bloom from a part of the stamp.

I wanted to complete this gift by wrapping it which has been simply done using a piece of cellophane but I have added some finishing touching by stamping one of the Bloom stamps onto shrink plastic 3 times and colouring with copic pens prior to heat shrinking and also some flat backed clear gems that have the stamped detail behind them.
