WOYWW 159

Hi
Well it's Wednesday and that can only mean one thing, a good look round at what all of you are up to in craft land, thanks to Julie's wonderful blog Stamping Ground  (that I don't join as often as I would like).
I am off work this week, a well earned break and a bit of me time, but with my washing machine woes (see previous post) that hasn't happened. In between the havoc that has been the past few days I have been colouring away in snatched moments, I am sure that many of you, like myself, find colouring in very therapeutic. I remember as a child sitting for hours with a colouring book and a packet of crayons, if I was taken to a toy shop and told I could pick anything I want, I am told that I would always go for the colouring books. I am sure that my enjoyment stems back to my childhood.
Anyway onto my desk
As you can see I have been colouring with different mediums. Whilst I have been having a play with all of them I cant seem to get to grips with colouring using distress markers I ended up using them as watercolour by scribbling the colour on a tile, which I could use my ink pads for the same effect. As far as distress markers for colouring in goes the jury is still out. (I have still to try direct to stamp technique)

thanks for looking. I hope to get round many desks today and see what you are all upto. Have a lovely wednesday

  1. Thank you for your lovely comments! I share the same enjoyment of colouring in, in fact I used to fight my two boys for the best pages in their colouring-in books!! Gave up and bought my own after a while!!

  2. Hello near neighbour, you have got some lovely coloured pens on your desk. Do you find like me you tend to gravitate to the same ones. I have four pencil crayons that are nearly down to the stub and a pile of others that are hardly used.
Last year I went to Art in Action in Oxford, my sister lives down there, and found this stall that you could mix and match your own tin of coloured pencils. I'm going again in July so will be able to replace my little stubby crayons.
Enjoy the sunshine. Hope it stays fine on Sunday when I am outside on my stall on the prom at Grange.

  10. All the colouring is fab but The mono chrome Kenny K is stunning and the stamps not bad either! I have not seen his images before. I too have a love of colouring in. I had a ton of fun colouring in a couple of Prima 12 x 12 papers - and I think I ran out one of my Promarkers doing it!

  13. Hi Amanda, fab colouring, particularly love the meerkats. Any tone on tone is quite a challenge and these look great!

As for using my scraps, I have a couple of boxes and don't use them as much as I would like - I often reach for the new stuff too!

    Happy woyww

  14. I think you find colouring theraputic because it is so natural to you and you get such good results. For me its stress making ...I always hate my resulting image and bin it ....no matter how hard I try ....now knitting ...thats theraputic ....most of the time. lol #9

  18. You have been busy! Not sure that I like the DM's much either, I think it makes a difference as to what kind of paper you colour onto. Yours seems to have turned out good though. I have been eyeing that stamp with all the girls!! keeleyxx

  19. Forme the Dms are just another felt tip but in the range of distress colours, I dont quite know what i was expecting, maybe something as good as the Copics...i dunno. Nevertheless, your colouring therapy is beautiful, even the ones you dont seem to like look great to me! Merrkats huh, third lot ive seen on this list!!
