You Can Be It for AALL & Create

Hi Everyone
I'm back with you today sharing my latest project as a guest designer for AALL & Create and this week it's all about Cards.

I have used as my main character Stamp set #188 Robot designed by Fiona Paltridge. He stands in front of a background made using #142 Edison Light by Olga Heldwein and stencil #77 Steam Cogs also designed by Olga.

I started by adding distress inks in vintage photo and rusty hinge directly to the stencil and lightly spritzing with water being laying it down, ink side down, onto a piece of mixed media card. Smooth over with a piece of kitchen paper and lift to reveal the print below. This piece was then edged with vintage photo distress ink.

Next was to stamp the full A4 Edison Light onto heavy cardstock using versafine ink and punch out a selection of squares from the image, I did this using 2 different sizes of square punches.

Next was to ink up each square using again vintage photo and rusty hinge distress ink.

I then stamped the little Robot guy onto mixed media paper and coloured him with Prismacolor pencils and cut him out.
All that was now left to do was to put it all together layering up the squares giving some dimension to some of them by using 3D silicone glue.

The Robot then is placed upon the background and I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Robot stamp to finish the card off. It was matted onto black cardstock and added to a card blank.

  6. Really love this. It reminds me of a piece I created for my GCSE exam. A pencil drawing my teacher loved - I promptly ripped into it and overlaid it with colour pieces I'd done. Not sure if my teacher was mortified or impressed.

I feel the pull to get all my crafty stuff out of the attic 😁 x
